A 55-year-old woman attended our hospital complaining of sudden epigastric pain. Within 4 hours after arrival she became shocked. Ultrasonography and computed tomography revealed hemoperitoneum in the upper abdomen. Angiography demonstrated an aneurysm of the right gastroepiploic artery. The aneurysm was resected, and the patient recovered without complications. Histopathological study of the resected specimen revealed the existence of an inflammatory process in the vessel wall.
