We report effective intraperitoneal and intraarterial combined chemotherapy for unresectable advanced Borrmann type IV gastric carcinoma. A 59-year-old man diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer in June 1999 was found at operation to have advanced gastric carcinoma T4 N3 P1 H0 M1 CY1. Three ports to both subphrenic pouches and Douglas' pouch were emplaced for intraperitoneal infusion chemotherapy with a modified low-dose CDDP and 5FU regimen. An artery port was also introduced into the aorta at Th9/10 for arterial infusion chemotherapy in September 1999. The patient was followed up as an outpatient and continued to undergo intraperitneal and intraarterial combined chemotherapy. With this approach, the patient's QOL could be maintained during chemotherapy
