We report a rare case of solitary neurofibroma of the descending colon. A 71-year-old man admitted for submucosal tumor of the descending colon was found in endoscopic studies to have a semicircular submucosal tumor with a central pit in the descending colon. Neither intraluminal ultrasonography or enhanced computed tomography indicated this tumor. Based on findings, we conducted laparoscopy assisted colectomy, histologically, the tumor of the descending colon had no capsule or border. Based on immunohistochemical studies, the tumor was definitively diagnosed as neurofibroma.
